Halloween Stuffed Peppers Recipe

Need something not too complicated to prepare to top off the Halloween meal you’re preparing? Well, there are many recipes that you could turn to, but few require so little work… wait! Our light bulb just went off and we came up with a great one: some stuffed peppers for Halloween!

Ingredients

If you’ve ever made stuffed peppers, then you already know what you need. But it never hurts to give yourself a little reminder, don’t you think?

  • 1 stuffed pepper per person (buy different colors)
  • ½ kg of mixed minced meat
  • 100 grams of serrano ham
  • 6 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ medium onion
  • ½ glass of white wine
  • 1 can of crushed tomato
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Oregano
  • Grated cheese

Preparation of Halloween stuffed peppers

The time has come to get down to business. If you have already made stuffed peppers before, you should know that the process is the same, only in this case you are going to give them a Halloween decoration.

  1. Wash well, dry and remove the tails of all the peppers that you are going to use . To open them, cut only the top part, but do not throw away the corner area. Now, in one area, with the help of a knife, make some eyes and mouth typical of Halloween pumpkins . Reserve for later.
  2. We are going to take care of the filling, for which you are going to heat a drizzle of olive oil in a saucepan and heat it over low heat. Peel the garlic clove and chop it very well, to brown it in the saucepan .
  3. Peel the half onion, wash it well (this will help reduce its tear effect) and chop it into small pieces, which you poach together with the garlic clove until the onion is very transparent.
  4. While you wait, you can season the minced meat to your liking , mixing with your hands, and cutting the Serrano ham into small pieces.
  5. Add the meat and ham to the saucepan and stir. For about 10-15 minutes cook the meat , until it takes on a little color. That will be the signal to add the half glass of white wine . Raise the heat to a boil, then reduce to a minimum. You will have to wait until the alcohol is reduced.
  6. Has the alcohol been reduced? Then you can already add the fried tomato together with a little salt, sugar and oregano ! Stir and cook for about 20 minutes at a minimum , so that it does not stick.
  7. The time has come to assemble the peppers, but first of all start the oven at 180º , with heat above and below so that it warms up.
  8. Introduce the mixture into the different peppers , being very careful that nothing comes out of the eyes and mouth of your creature, and cover with the corner area. When the oven is at temperature, introduce your dish for about 20 minutes. And they will be ready to serve!
