Preparation of gingerbread mummy cookies
Making this recipe is very easy. A child could have it ready in less than a couple of hours… you don’t want to be embarrassed, do you?
- The first thing to do is prepare the dough. To do this, mix the ginger preparation in a bowl , stirring well to distribute it. Then you beat it with the egg , until a very homogeneous mixture is formed.
- Then add the butter and beat again , which will result in a creamy mixture. Lastly, the water . When mixing you will see that it is gaining consistency, resulting in a compact mass.
- Said dough you will have to work a little with your hands (put a little flour so that it does not stick to you) and knead it for about 5 minutes . Form a ball and put in the fridge for at least an hour.
- When taking it out, and after having floured the surface on which you are going to work, stretch it with a rolling pin. Use a mold to give them the shapes of little people, or try using a knife to make them in the shape of a corpse enclosed in a coffin.
- Put in the oven, for about 12 minutes, at 170º so that they are done well. They may take a little longer if the cut has been too thick or less if it is smaller.
- Once the cookies are ready, you just have to let them rest a bit. Meanwhile, she stretches out the white fondant dough and cuts it into strips.
- When the cookies are a little cool, start wrapping them with these fondant “bandages” . Cover everything you can, except for the eye area. In these, you are going to put a couple of little yellow shoes, which we recommend you crush so that they do not clash too much.
- Repeat the process with all the mummies (you can use fondant and other colors) and you will have them ready to serve.
